Aranmula temple is one of the main temples of Sri Krishna bhagavan in Kerala. The deity here is known as Parthasarathy, the Guide of Partha (Arjuna). The Temple is located along the Banks of Pamba river. Aranmula is famous for boat race, a spectacular procession of snake boats known as “Uthrattathi boat race”. This temple has importance in Sabarimala mandala festival. The Temple is one of the resting places of Thiruvabharanam (Sacred jewels of Ayyappa) ghoshayatra(Procession to Sabarimala). The golden attire (Thanka anki) of Ayyappa stored here is taken to Sabarimala during Mandala festival time.
