Ammas ashram bridge view from Vallikkavu

Alappad and Vallikkavu are two villages separated by Kayamkulam backwaters. The bridge connects Alappad village and Vallikkavu. It is hundred meters long, 5 meters wide and height is 7m. The bridge was built by Ashram by Ammas decision to speed up the evacuation of people at Parayakadavu and Alappad during a critical situation like tsunami and to provide better travel environment between the villages. The bridge was inaugurated by Former Indian President Dr A P J Abdul kalam.
