konni town in pathanamthitta district, kerala. It is about 11 km south-east of Pathanamthitta.Elephant cage is the attraction of konni, many visitors are coming to this place from india and foreign. There is a museum arranged to describe wild life and elephants life for tourists, Trucking to nearby forest etc. Covered by an extensive forest area, Konni has the largest number of wild elephants in the state. These wild elephants, caught from the forest, were brought to the Elephant Cage and put in wooden cages known as Anakoodu. They are later trained for work. The central government put an end to this type of crude old method of elephant catching and training, thus the cages were renedered useless. But, still it attracts lots of curious visitors. By road, one can reach this spot by taking local transport from Pathanamthitta.
